Hi Dave and all,
I was mulling over what to say, until you nailed it short and sweet. The
American phrase that fits is too many chiefs and too few Indians. When
the internet came to town we had a gateway bloom, so many they greatly
exceeded the bandwidth alloted by gentlemen's agreement and spilled over
into other band segments used for simplex and experimental operations,
quite an annoying mess they made of our favorite "private channels" we
went to getting away from the crowd. Thankfully it didn't last long, the
"I want to be a sysop" fad blew over, the lights were on but nobody was
home.
