An Armenian cellphone company handed 4mln AMD worth super modern
equipments to Armenia’s Radio Sport Federation.
These special equipments, including radio receivers, and directional
antennas will help the radio sport funs to record higher scores
during international competitions than they do at present,
by occupying the 30th place.
Armenia is considered to be a unique DX country in terms of radio
communication since there are very few radio amateurs in the country.
The nickname of Armenia is EK0HQ. To get an international diploma
of radio amateur (QSL card), a resident of any country needs to
establish a radio communication with Armenia.
Armenian Radio Sport Federation is using outdated homemade equipment,
which has been in use during rescue works of Spitak’s earthquake and
they established communication from ruined towns which was in
complete isolation from the outer world and helped a lot in the
mobilization and realization of rescue works.
