Further update on the above.
I found out this morning, that our ADSL connection has been upgraded
to ADSL2+ on the 17 April 2009.

Have now ordered another ADSL router that supports this. which may take 
a week to arrive.

In the mean time, will check out one of my WiFi access points, to see
if that has an UNused ADSL2+ interface and reconfigure that to use temporary
to get some of the services operational again.

Link only stay connected for about 5 to 10 minutes before the PPP link to
the ISP is dropped.
