A NEWS channel, flowing with up to the minute information, from the World?
Interests coming in from foreign parts, almost as it happens too! Have you
heard, of a matron called Susan Boyle; unemployed, unmarried,47 years old,
Church attender and sings in the Choir, and at events? 'No?' neither had I;
bides in Blackburn, they tell me .. through the west I think!'
"What about her then ..?" She was on the Talent Show, for the up and comin
talents, and she sings .." New talents are like that, needs some practise
for a month or two before you try for the top! I hear there's another flood
somewhere .. ' jis doon the road frae me, hot pipe burst!' "Ah thought it
wis Japan .." Blackburn? .. no, Japan; that wis the flooded oot wan!
"Whit aboot her, that wummin ye said ..?" Got hersel intae the last hunner,
did she? "Naw, she emptid thaem oot?" Fancy that .....
It touches on the truth, slightly, in case you hadn't heard; details are
right, she wanted to 'do something with her voice?' Voice training that
would be then; but she is a bit old for that sort of career, where they
start them young, until the voice shows maturity! 'My sister gives singing
lessons ..' wouldn't be catching, is it?
Susan stood on that big empty stage alone; the huge audience, would have
given a hungry Kodiak bear, the trembles, no mistake! Mr Cowell asked her
why she was there .. 'I want to sing, find a place for it?' Chosen?
'I dreamed, song, - from Les Miserables' the backing, a recorded Orchestra,
which would start on the dot .. help .. we'er OFF.
Orchestra INTRO: go, I heard the first few bars .. and that Orchestra was
a class performer, and would impress any singer with their ranked musical
competence. I might have been disturbed by that audience, which errupted,
and made all that noise, could hardly hear myself; but .. this lady not
only had a beautifully modulated voice, she had power behind it, and I
never missed a single note .. it carried!
It isn't often given to be in at the start of a career prospect; and to
listen to a voice that has been hidden for far too long, .. it took the
attention of every attender immediately, which was due, to a vocal range
with such warmth to it, you had to want to absorb some of it for yourself.
This voice was up with the peaks, the continued applause didn't put me
off in the least.
I found myself having difficulty seeing the detail of that video clip
again, due to tears streaming down my face! Silly, isn't it? I had the
privilege of listening to a rare talent that probably wouldn't repeat
again, in this century! Promoters know talent when they hear it - by
this time, the World knows about this hidden talent, no more; it just
needed an airing, to gain its deserved adulation!
And, I wasn't there ............. weird mullins, Esq.
