IT, happens every year!
Stupid season has started: advance/retard all the timepieces,
don't forget the heating/cooling system and hot water for the use of.
There are other timepiece settings to be changed, or things will not go
your way, and irr-ii-ttation, is on the cards! Just one misjudgement,
and a local thunder cloud appears, in your vicinity. If your computer
has been the picture of amiability over a long period - prepare,
it's the silly season, and 'nobody' gets away with IT, scot free!
.. 5.30 AM, found me sweltering, I swam out of bed, put a hand on the
radiator, and hastily took it back - HOT! Flapped down the stairs with
floppies on, and TWO RED indicators glared at me. I know how to switch
OFF, but I am not the one does the settings! That CHANGED .. as of NOW!
It's no use standing there fuming, stomach wanting breakfast,
but gritted teeth, come first. Put the porridge on, tea and all the
usual to be FIRST, THEN .. see to these settings, it will be ALL of
them, trust me! IF, you manage to reset ALL to match the season,
then goody to you .. you are about to get your uppance, you missed
the am/pm setting .. as I did!
There's another lurid morning to be gone through, and stupid season
is really revving up. The shredder got into the act .. it didn't
need to, it was lonely .. switch off, before clearing it? I'm NOT
touching the carpet sweeper, as it was newly serviced by the Firms
trained man! I can HOPE.
I sent off an e-mail, looking for an understanding ear,
either? - all I got, was HIS problems, and I had to struggle to even
get a mention? Things were not about to get better, I have lots of
jobs, locked away, and only one at a time, let out! That ONE, was
put back under wraps .. PRIORITY, Rules.
Sophisticated electronics and automatic switchovers are
common practice, I don't set the time on my computer, as I used to.
Changing settings are made a matter of life or death now. I have 5
seconds to enter, one of a number of settings, and if I miss ..
back to the beginning again? IT tells ME what it wants ME to do?
STUPID is, as stupid does .. Forrest Gump maintained.
.. come the Autumn, we have it all to do, again?
Well, it should be easier, maybe; it SHOULD be easier at the
inception, when they wrote the coding. Following Instructions, and
a 5 second time limit, OR, back to the beginning again. The
Instructions didn't even mention the AM/PM item?
