WEST YORKSHIRE RAFARS VHF WEEKLY NET CHANGES.
The West Yorkshire VHF RAFARS Net Operational every Thursday at 1900hrs
local will be on a new frequency of 145.350 and Controlled by Geoff G0PFH
under the Club call sign of GX2UG in conjunction with the Halifax Radio
Club which has 7 RAFARS club members. This change is due to a much better
take off location than G3HWF/G0JKW and, hopefully, better coverage for
RAFARS Members. Members please amend QRZ Call Book back page accordingly.
RESULTS OF SSB FIELD DAY 2008 G8FC/P
G8FC/P Came 18th out of an entry of 26, in the Restricted Section.
Roger our Contest Manager G3ZDW wishes to thank G3KWY, G0WFV, G4DQP,G0RHJ,
G1YFX and the support of G0NVY. A good time was had by all and Roger hopes
to see you all at Metheringham next year. Well done Roger and the crew.
A few more volunteers would be appreciated to get RAFARS to the top half

COUNCIL MEMBER - SPECIAL PROJECTS
SAC Tony Corbett G0WFV has been co-opted to Council in place of Flt Sgt
Chris Vernon GM0TQJ who leaves the Service in the new year. His post of
SES Co-ordinator is disestablished and Tony will oversee a number of tasks
under the umbrella of "Special Projects Co-ordinator".
RAFARS Council thank Chris for his work on Council and wish him well for
his future ventures in Canada.
REMINDER - RAFARS NEW TREASURER.
Michael M0MJG 4271 is our new Treasurer. All financial matters including
Subscriptions, Expense Claims and Standing Orders should be referred to him
(QTHr in QRZ)or by e-mail to <m0mjg@penalter.plus.com>.
COUNCIL VACANCY - VOLUNTEER STILL REQUIRED
Because Michael M0MJG is now the treasurer, there is an immediate vacancy
for a Marketing Manager and a Field Rep. Co-ordinator. Volunteers should
contact our General Secretary, Mike G7JPN, as soon as possible.
GB70RAF RAFARS 70TH ANNIVERSARY.
GB70RAF RAFARS 70th Anniversary will be operational from 14 Nov to 11 Dec
2008 on 2m FM and 80m down to 10m SSB and some CW on RAFARS Frequencies.
QTH will be from Shaftesbury Dorset, WAB ST82. QSL via RSGB or Services.
