It's hard to believe, but 3 weeks from tonight,
is the Memorial Day holiday...so the PCL Net will
not meet the night of May 27.
I went to my PCP today for a follow-up after my
late April ER trip and hospitalization. I did have
to get both ears cleared of ear wax buildup, and
that was not fun...but I now can hear again!!
I see my eye doctor on the 17th, and my cardiologist
on the 22nd. The Home Health Care nurse from the
hospital will be by tomorrow morning. I have to call
the pharmacy and order some OTC Flonaise for my sinus
drainage. I was told since I did the home Cologuard
test, I won't need to get a colonoscopy for 3 years,
and we all know what a crappy mess that is (hi hi).
A rare high risk of severe weather and tornadoes is
to my west across north Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas
today and tonight...Arkansas may see similar things
in my area (Arkansas) on Wednesday, but as of now,
the weekend looks nice. Speaking of weather, it looks
like this will be an active hurricane season...weather
geek Ryan Hall went above what Colorado State University
had predicted. I'm glad I'm not along to Gulf or Atlantic
Coast.
I had left the computers up this past Saturday, when I
went to the local college to do a ham radio license exam,
thinking the storms would not get into the area until after
I got home. We were about ready to close up (4 examiners,
but no candidates), when a lightning strike occurred just
outside our building, and my heart sank!! So, we loaded
everything up, and I got home a little bit later, and shut
things down. After nearly getting all my stuff zapped, I'll
now shut things off before I go out on errands, or when I
need a nap.
I heard that Gigaparts, HRO, and others have bought out the
remainder of MFJ's stock, so after May 17, when they are to
cease on-site production, they may also shut down. Too bad
another company didn't pick up the supplies, and keep them
going.

NS2B:
GE All.
Didn't do much radio wise. Last week, I was pondering the
firmware change to a TYT MD380 to make it an M17 radio.
Discovered through diligent research that it's just not
quite ready for primetime so I'll wait on that one. Still
using the mvoice program on a raspberry pi for M17 - that
works fine.
It's mowing season - I swear I just mowed my yard and looking
at it today - it needs it again!
Planted some Marigolds today. Looks like planting season came
early this year.
Was down at the race track yesterday. American Endurance Racing
had an 8 hour race down there. Plenty of fast cars!

KX4AC:
GE All. It has been a quiet week here. The weekend weather was
good, except for a little rain early Sunday morning. I have
been tweaking my packet radio station; I have everything starting
automatically on a reboot except the winlink server for some
reason. I guess there is something wrong with my systemd setup.
(I hate systemd!) It will probably wind up being something stupid
and obvious when I figure it out.
Other than that I have been doing more photography than radio
lately. Got the pics from my recent vacation organized a bit.
The local ham club meeting is next Monday, so I won't be here in
person next week. I will try to send an update.

Replies from N5VLZ:
Bob, the grass is growing like mad here as well, with all the
rain. Lloyd, KC5FM, uses M17 on one of the nets I do during
the week. FB on the car races at the track, and the Marigolds.
Charley, thanks for updating the email. Please drop a note to
Greg, KI5NHZ, to let him know your status this weekend. Since
I don't drive or have a car anymore, due to vision issues, I'm
not sure if we could do an eyeball QSO, especially considering
my nets during the week, and medical appointments. Plus, Lyft
isn't cheap, with a shortage of drivers right now.
Carl, FB on the rain. I talked to Doug, W3HH, in Ocala, and he
said they need rain badly. GL on the packet station setup. Rick,
KA2BSM, also does photography and ham radio. Just email me a
summary for next week, and I'll put it in the scribe.
