Hey Rick - looks like me and you.
Daryl is having internet troubles still/again.
We finally got some rain today! and the wx people claim
it might rain all week.
Went down the track Saturday and flagged the Historic Sports Car
races. Mostly an uneventful day until the last race. Then the
guy driving the retired from IMSA C7 Corvette totalled it. I
was bummed - I love/loved that car!
How's your week? >>>
VA7RBP Rick :
KF5TVG : Bob *** Joined Chat, Topic General
VA7RBP Rick : Howdy Bob
KF5TVG Bob : GE all!>>>
VA7RBP Rick : The week was pretty good weather wise, some sunny days, some rainy days.
VA7RBP Rick : I buggered my back last Wednesday, must have gone over some bumps while riding the bike, and my lower
back
KF5JRV : Scott *** Joined Chat, Topic General
VA7RBP Rick : is complaining. So, I've just bee taking it easy.
VA7RBP Rick : Everyone must be away enjoying the beginning of Summer, as my NETS that I call have been lacking in
check-ins,
VA7RBP Rick : and The morning PACTOR sessions on 40M have been quiet as well.
VA7RBP Rick : We have a severe thunderstorm warning up at the moment, but I'm looking at the lightning map on the web,
and note that
VA7RBP Rick : there is nothing going on...?? We're also expecting rain over the next week... believe it when I see
it...
VA7RBP Rick : That's about it for me...just sitting around, watching TV. So...BTU Bob >>>
VA7RBP Rick :

Yeah, we're finally getting rain here too. 'bout time - my yard was almost going brown.

GE Scott, you'll be after Bob.

GE Bob, how was your week? >>>
KF5TVG Bob :
KF5TVG Bob : GE all!
KF5TVG Bob :
KF5TVG Bob : Saw where developers of Gridtracker are getting an award for their efforts.
KF5TVG Bob : Great package that really makes ft8 enjoyable for me. Lots of features,
KF5TVG Bob : including their "Call Roster" which highlights the potential contacts you
KF5TVG Bob : want to try. Eliminates a lot of clutter about those you don't care about (or
KF5TVG Bob : have already made contact with).
KF5TVG Bob :
KF5TVG Bob : I'm trying to make a 20m ft8 contact in Turkey as we speak.
KF5TVG Bob :
KF5TVG Bob : Had family in from Ft Worth this weekend and they were interested in chasing
KF5TVG Bob : the weather balloons I mentioned last week... so we chased one all the
KF5TVG Bob : way to the South Canadian river!
KF5TVG Bob :
KF5TVG Bob : Ok, that river flows about 3 miles away from my house here in central Okla,
KF5TVG Bob : but we did chase it until it landed in a marshy area and we called it a day.
KF5TVG Bob :
KF5TVG Bob : Since then, they have been pushed by the winds to land over 2 hours away.
KF5TVG Bob : If I can see one that is projected to land 30 minutes or less from here,
KF5TVG Bob : I'll give it another go.
KF5TVG Bob :
KF5TVG Bob : That's all for now. BTU Bob>>>

Chasing wx balloons sounds like fun! I've grabbed that software yet - but it's on my list!

GE Scott, how are things with you? >>>
KF5JRV Scott :
KF5JRV Scott : We are doing good. Finally recieved some rain. The morning glories exploded. I had the raised pretty
clean.
KF5JRV Scott : In three days time they about took over. Not done much on the radio front. I need to repair some
KF5JRV Scott : tandy htx 212 2 meter rigs. The coax pig tails need redone. That abot it for now. BTU Bob >>>

That brings back memories, my first ham radio was a radio shack HTX-202 - the handheld. It got
me started.

Ok, that's round 1, back to the top for final comments.
