Hello, this is message to let people know that here in Moncton
we put together this week what we call STORM WATCH MONITORING.
So far 18 people have shown interest in helping out.
We made 3 teams of 6 people each to monitor a shift of 4 hours
each to cover 24 hours. Each person is responsible to find a replacement
if they cannot do their shift, or move it to another shift.
It was activitate this morning early as a standby for team A,
and to activate
a 2 pm and start monitoring.
Hoping that good will come out of this, as it is a good exercise
for ham radio.
It is only basicly local to the coverage of the repeater here
in Moncton, but if irg link is open and there is a distress call,
then it will be taken care of. At this time the irg link will
not be open and MTN will remain for repeater coverage only.
Snow started here in Moncton about 3 pm and predictions are to
have between 3 to 6 inches and then turning to rain afer midnight
as temps are rising to +9 by Monday morning. I am sure it will
be a mess.
Thought i would post this on packet also, just for practice.
