WX4QZ:
The PCL Net is now back on its regular schedule.
Its holidays are during the weeks of Easter,
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
I saw Hamvention 2021 has been canceled (COVID-19).
I had hoped that the $800 I had spent to replace
the motor/blower on the central heat unit at the
QTH was my last big expense for awhile. Cue the
voice of ESPN Commentator Lee Corso: "Not so fast,
my friend!!".
I was involved in a multi-vehicle accident last
Thursday. While I "walked away" from the wreck,
my car wasn't so lucky. At least the other drivers
had insurance, and I wasn't at fault. I'm undergoing
chiropractic treatment. Now, it's a waiting game with
the insurance companies. It was my first wreck in 43
years. I've worked out transpd ortation through late
February...but the car probably will get totaled. I
may not have transportation again until March. At
least I can get groceries and medications delivered,
and a friend will take me to the Post Office Box
once a week.
Little Rock finally got some snow flurries this
morning...but not enough to satisfy the snow
lovers. Some model runs are showing snow this
time next week. However, the tornado chasers
are drooling for an active season, which will
be here soon enough.

NS2B:
Somewhat uneventful this week.
I decided that since it's colder and I'm not a
fan of walking the neighborhood in the cold
I'd try mall walking. I guess that's a thing
older people do. So I went for a 3 mile walk
tonight - I'm tired. But while walking, it was
somewhat disturbing to see the # of stores
closed - and I'm sure it's related to Covid.
In other news almost all the football teams I'm
a fan of made it to the 2nd week of the playoffs!
Those being the Chiefs (my #1 team) the Bills (#2)
the Browns (#3) and the Buccaneers (#4) - we have
good football this year!!
Not much to report on the radio front. HF has
been "sad" during the times I try it out.
Normally I check into a Salvation Army Net
(SATERN) on Saturdays, but the last 2 weeks,
it has been really poor propagation.
Our snow has been mostly flurries here - this
morning like most mornings, my yard and street
were white - they're mostly clear, but I expect
they'll be white again in the morning!

KC5RBH:
Hey all! Well I did make it back! I can't believe
it's been another week already. I really am at a
loss tonight for what to say, but I still wanted to
get back and say hello. Maybe I'll be more
interesting next week. :)

VA7RBP:
Good evening Daryl and all on the net.
I forgot the net last week, and almost forgot again
tonight.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years Eve,
ours was verrrrry quiet this year. No Christmas
gatherings, no New Years party.
But I did get a new (refurbished) computer, with lots
of RAM, and a 512 Gb SSD, which I'm still trying to set
up my radio stuff on.
Not a lot of radio work done lately, other than playing
around with new versions of VARA and trying to get WinRPR
(Robust Packet) going.
We've just been taking it easy, playing the waiting game for
COVID vaccine. I guess with all this isolation, we haven't
had the flu or colds this winter so far.
Let's hope we can hold out as long as possible...

NT5R:
GE Daryl and everyone
Quiet holidays in Missouri also. Been cold (for Branson) all week
low 30s f high today of 37.6, not much fun walking/hiking outside
so wimped out today and went to RecPlex 7.1 miles on treadmill
Working on three laptops that were donated, two have intermittent
issues third and oldest just needs new battery, may use for ham
stuff. Solid state drives getting cheap may do that.
Hope all had good memories and got goodies for Christmas.
