Breve storia di un'avventura .....a lieto fine.
IQ4GS - Il Gruppo Microonde Monte del Giogo - Monte Maggiore ha iniziato
la propria avventura nel mondo D-Star nell'estate del 2007 con i primi
collegamenti in banda UHF e VHF utilizzando l'IC-2820 e l'IC-2200 H e
solo piu' tardi in banda 1200 MHZ con l'eccezionale ID-1.
Il primo salto di qualita' e' avvenuto il 20 aprile 2008 quando le
stazioni IQ4GS/5 e IQ0CV/0 si sono collegate in DV mode utilizzando le
parabole delle due Basi, gia' in precedenza testate in FM, con un
collegamento di ottima qualita' anche con un solo watt di potenza.
La creativita' del "Gruppo" , dopo questo risultato ha iniziato a
cavalcare la fantasia che, dopo i successi del 25 maggio e dell'8 giugno
2008 ( vedi le cronache su www.ik4mgv.it) si e' trasformata in realta'
ponendo le basi per l'installazione di un Nodo D-Star a Monte del Giogo.
Numerose le difficolta' da superare a partire dalla realizzazione di un
collegamento WI-FI a 5 GHZ per l'interconnessione alla rete come
Gateway, alla preparazione di un ambiente idoneo ove ospitare le
apparecchiature adatto a sopportare le temperature estremamente basse
nel periodo invernale, alla progettazione ed installazione di un sistema
di antenne sufficientemente dimensionato per resistere alle raffiche di
vento che spesso superano i 100 Km orari.
Di giorno in giorno i vari pezzi sono assemblati ed il 17 luglio 2008
alle ore 11 circa, con la collaborazione fattiva di IZ3CLG e di IW5CBL
per la prima volta e' stato attivato il Modulo B di IQ4GS.
E' luogo comune dire che non esiste rosa senza spine, cosi' anche IQ4GS
B non ne e' stato esente : la difficolta' maggiore si e' presentata
nell'ottimizzare il lobo di radiazione del segnale UHF che doveva
illuminare in modo adeguato le strette vallate che scendono verso il Po,
la sottostante Pianura Padana e le vallate della Lunigiana che scendono
verso il Mar Tirreno, nonche' numerosi Km della Costa Ligure.
La grande versatilita' del Sistema D-Star " un sistema intelligente" ci
viene in aiuto cosi' " il Gruppo " determina di acquistare anche il
Modulo C ed il giorno 28 settembre 2008 una nuova antenne spunta sull'ex
traliccio L.O.S. Ed inizia ad irradiare uno splendido segnale in banda
VHF che consente l'ingresso al Sistema anche dai punti piu' coperti
delle nostre vallate e da alcuni tratti della Costa Ligure.
L'effettiva copertura in banda VHF, particolarmente verso il Mar Tirreno
e' ancora da determinare, ma confidiamo che i rapporti d' ascolto che
possono giungere dagli Om della zona ci consentano di portare a termine
in modo corretto questo lavoro di Mappatura ( montegiogo@libero.it ).
La frequenza da impostare sul proprio apparato e' : 144.862,5 + 600 KHZ
in modo DV.
Attualmente i lavori non si possono considerare propriamente finiti, un'
ulteriore e gia' pianificata messa a punto delle antenne completera'
prima dell'inverno questa fase di sviluppo, con un appuntamento molto
probabile su frequenze piu' alte nella prossima primavera.
Per la messa in opera di questo complesso Sistema e' doveroso un sincero
ringraziamento a IK4MZJ - Marco Toni - che ha collaborato oltre allo
straordinario ed abituale impegno nel Gruppo, mettendo a disposizione
una sofisticata strumentazione indispensabile per la messa a punto degli
impianti.

A brief history of adventure ..... a happy ending.
IQ4GS - The Group of Microwave Monte Giogo - Monte Maggiore began his
adventure in the world D-Star in the summer of 2007 with the first links
in UHF and VHF band using the IC-2820 and IC-2200 H and only More 'in
late 1200 MHZ band with the unique ID-1.
The first leap in quality 'and' took place on April 20 2008 when the
stations IQ4GS / 5 and IQ0CV /0 were connected in DV mode using the
parables of the two bases, gia 'previously tested in FM, with a link of
high quality 'Even with just one watt of power.
The creativity 'of the "Group", dopon this result has started to ride
the fantasy that after the successes of 25 May and 8 June 2008 (see the
news on www.ik4mgv.it) has turned into reality laying the foundations
for the installation of Node D-Star at Mount Giogo.
Many difficulties to overcome from the creation of a WI-FI 5 GHZ for the
interconnection network as a gateway to the preparation of a suitable
environment where host equipment suited to withstand extremely low
temperatures in winter, by design and installation of a system of
antennas sufficiently dimensioned to withstand gusts of wind that often
exceed 100 km per hour.
Day after day the different pieces are assembled and July 17 2008 at
around 11, with the collaboration of IZ3CLG and IW5CBL for the first
time it was activated form of B IQ4GS.
E 'cliche' to say that there is no rose without thorns, so IQ4GS B was
not exempt: The main difficulty was presented to optimize the lobe of
radiation UHF signal which was to illuminate adequately narrow valleys
descending toward the Po, below the Po Valley and the valleys of
Lunigiana that descend toward the Tyrrhenian Sea, and many Km of Costa
Ligure.
The great versatility of the D-Star System "an intelligent system" to
help us so "the Group" determines to purchase the Form C and on 28
September 2008 a new antenna tower on ex LOS Tick And begins to radiate
a splendid signal in VHF band allowing entry to the system also covered
by most of our valleys and some sections of Costa Ligure.
The actual coverage in VHF band, particularly towards the Tyrrhenian Sea
has yet to be determined, but are confident that the relations d
'audience that can reach the area by the Om allow us to carry out a
proper mapping of this work ( montegiogo @ libero. it).
The frequency set on its own is: 144862.5 + 600 KHZ in DV.
Currently, the work can not be considered properly finished, an 'already
planned and further development of satellite will complete before winter
this stage of development, with an appointment very likely at higher
frequencies next spring.
For the implementation of this complex system is a dutiful sincere
thanks to IK4MZJ - Marco Toni - who has worked more than usual to the
extraordinary commitment and the Group, providing a sophisticated
instrumentation essential for the development of the plant.
