saddened to hear of the death of Reg Galle VK5QR on September 11.
Reg was a leading pioneer of the use of these amateur radio bands.

K4AF Special Event Station

On Thursday, September 11th, 2008, the Pentagon Amateur Radio Club (PARC)
will operate a Special Event station commemorating the 7th anniversary of
the terrorist attacks that occurred on the Pentagon, the World Trade Center
and over Pennsylvania in 2001.

World ARDF Championships in Korea

The 14th World ARDF championships were held from the 2-7 September in Gyeonggi
Province in Korea under the auspices of Korean Amateur Radio League.

Enthusiasts Tune Into The Hobby
-------------------------------
Last weekend Cobar High School played host to amateur radio enthusiasts from
the Newcastle area and Peak Hill.
Kim Piper along with Graham O'Brien and David Soper made the long trip to
Cobar to meet with fellow amateur radio operator John Bennet, to teach Year 11
physics students from Cobar High School about operating a radio station and
gaining an amateur radio licence.
Neil and Michael Halliger also participated in the course.
