I got it from the BBC... they interviewed a significant number of Ozzie
visitors to the UK in London and Edinburgh for a VoxPop news item. Time
after time they showed hang-dog glum faces of Ozzies who looked like their
very raison d'etre had been rent assunder. It was hilarious listening to
the pathetic excuses from those from god's own sporting nation.

It just goes to show that when the UK spends as much money as other
countries do on training and sports facilities our own atheletes do rather
well on the world stage. So it's not really anything to do with prowess,
just how much moolah is available. What would be interesting would be to
see how well Ozzie sportsdudes do if they had the same training budget that
the UK used to have. Not very well would be the answer.

However, the point remains that whilst it's most amusing to wipe the smile
of the face of those down under, I still feel there are more important
things to spend such huge amounts of cash on than seeing who can run
fastest etc. I would hazard a guess that our Kiwi friends are probably most
delighted to see their nearest neighbours taken down a peg to two as well!

Ding, dong, ding Bob. That's the signal for you to start drooling again :-)
