Fair go Andy. I don't know where you got that bit of information from but
it is seriously incorrect. The chief purveyors of such comment are usually
from a country that has had its self confidence dented in one of the
sports that Aussies excel at.
Look again at your assessment "the UK got more golds.....than Australia."
There would be something seriously wrong with Britain if it did not. Our
population = rising 22 million, Britain's - what? 60 million? You should
have got three times as many as Oz but you didn't.
I heard a comment during the closing ceremony that Australia per head of
population did the best of all the participants. Put that in your pipe and
smoke it!!
Test cricket, oh yes, the UK got back the Ashes last time .. according to
one of the British players in that team their bowlers cheated by
illegally tampering with the ball. There is another Test series soon. We
shall see. .........
