Once again, I agree David.

My sentiments about the help I have had from sysops just can't be
reiterated enough.

I hadn't realised that GB7FRC had 70 users. When I was on RF I donated
yearly to both the local repeater group and the Packet User Group but on
Telnet there is no kind of group.

Congratulations on your idea for 'Friends of GB7FRC' perhaps your SP could
be repeated annually ?

Here is a brief anecdote which, perhaps, is relevant:

In 1990 when I was first licenced I was talking on our local 70cm repeater
with my tiny, new handie.
I mentioned to the other man that it seemed only fair that I should be
able to contribute in some way to the expense of the repeater.

We were interrupte by a station who broke in to say he was the secretary
of the local repeater group and gave out an address to which to send an
annual
donation. I thanked him and he went away.

Suddenly, dozens of voices came in sayng, that they didn't know the
address of the repeater group and had written it down and donations were
on their way. Yes we had been 'earwigged on' by a lot of people, not just
new G7s like me but G4s and G6s who had been around for a long time. :-)

Naturally when I tried packet later I was ready to look for a PUG.

Thanks again. Ian G0TEZ@GB7FCR.
