Short Range Forecast DiscussionNWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD343 AM EDT Sat Jun 15 2019Valid 12Z Sat Jun 15 2019 - 12Z Mon Jun 17 2019...There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over parts of theWestern Ohio Valley, Middle Mississippi Valley, and parts of theCentral/Southern Plains......There is a slight risk of excessive rainfall over parts of the UpperGreat Lakes......Heavy rain possible from parts of the Ohio Valley to the MiddleMississippi Valley and parts of the Central/Southern Plains...There will be several impulses riding a long the southern edge of theWesterlies while moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will flow northward overPlains/Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley through Monday. Showersand thunderstorms will develop along a boundary over the MiddleMississippi/Western Ohio Valleys through Saturday morning. A secondboundary will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms from the UpperGreat Lakes into the Upper Mississippi Valley into the Northern Plainsthat will move southward into the Ohio/Middle Mississippi Valleysnorthwestward into the Northern Plains by Saturday evening into Sundayevening. As the boundary moves eastward into the Lower GreatLakes/Northeast, rain will develop over the area and continue over partsof the Northeast through late Sunday night when the boundary moves off theNortheast/Mid-Atlantic Coast. Overnight Saturday, showers and thunderstorms will move into parts of theCentral Appalachians/Mid-Atlantic that will continue through early Mondaymorning as the boundary, likewise, moves off the Mid-Atlantic Coast. Alsoon Saturday evening, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts ofthe Southern/Central High Plains that will move eastward into the SouthernPlains by Sunday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will move intothe Lower Mississippi Valley/Western Gulf Coast by Sunday afternoon thatwill expand eastward into the Tennessee Valley through Monday. Elsewhere, diurnal heating and moisture will aid in producing showers andthunderstorms over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies on Saturday intoMonday. Tropical moisture and upper-level energy will aid in producingshowers and thunderstorms over the Florida Peninsula through Monday.
