Take heart, Dave, the first 15 years of Linux are the worst.
Something else I feel compelled to pass on for those who compile their own
kernels. There is a problem with some later kernels whereby, when kissattach
is invoked, the /proc/sys/net/ax25 directory(s) disappear. You end up with
attached KISS ports that you can't use. Kill the kissattach process(es) and
they come back again. The *temporary* fix is to ensure you compile with
DAMA Slave support included in the kernel.
