Seasons Greeting everyone.
It’s at this time of year things start to slow down at home giving more time to play radio, and i love playing radio!
It’s also a good time to reflect on the year and take stock of things, this being said I have been thinking a lot about all the amazing people I have met on Packet Radio this year.
People say "Packet Radio is dead" but clearly, it’s not, I feel that the people saying this have not been on packet in a while or maybe there is just no activity in their area?
This year has seen the formation of the Donegal Packet Radio Group to spark an interest in this amazing digital mode.
We are not a huge group, only a few members as yet but growing all the time promoting Packet Radio & Ham Radio all the time.
Throughout 2018 I have been receiving donations of TNC's to start & grow the network.
I have also had a donation of a Yaesu FT450 for the HF port on 14.105Mhz (lsb) & a Motorola GM300 for the VHF port on 144.650Mhz.
I am quite excited to see what 2019 will bring in terms of Packet Radio.
My new year’s resolution is to contribute more to the packet system:
Promoting Packet Radio & encourage new users.
Send more Bulls & Info onto the system.
I would love to hear from you all as to what you will be doing in the new year, maybe help a fellow ham get onto Packet – Setup a node or even get your local club involved in Packet Radio.
