Just for the benefit of Peter VE3WBZ and any others. I have been on GB7FCR
for about 4 years ever since I moved house to where, probably because of
the excellent radio and TV reception, we are forbidden rooftop aerials,
except for satellite dishes which must be below the eaves.

Prior to that I had a good path into GB7HVU, 15 miles away, a permanent S9
from a dual band co - linear.

Sadly, even if I could reach GB7HVU, his way out is via GB7FCR so not only
will telnet users of GB7FCR lose out but, assuming HVU is still around, he
will lose his path.

A lot of people from around the UK use FCR so it means a loss of most of
northern England and at least one Scottish station..

You will still see those excellent bulletins on electronics from John,
G8MNY and Mel, G4WYW will be around, not forgetting G1NNB and his users of
course.

They are all in the south of England.

I might look around for another telnet BBS, always assuming he'll have me
but I might just quietly go QRT as has G4EBT. He might have annoyed a lot
of people 'down under' but he was prolific :-)

Just take a look at the R: lines to see just what percentage of British
bulls originate at GB7FCR.
