For PBBS activity, the obcm is more featured than linFBB
and it's on real development: the author(s) is live on
the packet-radio debate.
The linFBB may be the second chose...

I remember that DOS TSTHOST have many resources
than the above packet client, among the others
the ability to download the msg header list from
FBB and one can choose which msg download.

I used the LinKt which is a X11 graphic
client, but it remained to the now very
old KDE library and so no further usable.
